We had the most fabulous weather this weekend! We spent all of it outside at David's family's cabin and camping with my mom and sisters. The area we live in is so beautiful!
The last two weeks have changed the look of the land! We have had an abundance of wild flowers. This one, in particular, is one I hadn't noticed last year.
We have had this mom and baby moose.
And we currently have had this resident elk...unless Izzy irritated it enough to leave yesterday. Izzy was so angry that this elk would just look at her when she would try to attack it instead of run.
David, his mom, and his brother, John, ran in the First Annual Windermere Half Marathon (13.1 miles) yesterday. David had a goal of 1hr 30min and finished with 1hr 24min! He did very well and was pleased to have met his goal. Mom did really well too by taking second place in her age group! Whew!
This is a photo I took while in Winchester, England. It is a very charming town. Most of the women wear these little tartan skirts as everyday attire! Many ride bicycles at the same time. It seems reminiscent of Mary Poppins for some reason, or perhaps The Wizard of Oz.
Last week, May 6th, was our three year anniversary. We went to our favorite Spokane restaurant (one of the few places worth spending food money around here): Europa.
We tried to take a decent picture of ourselves. I don't think we were successful.
Although we usually go on a little weekend trip instead of buying gifts and such, we were busy this weekend organizing my High School's first annual prom! I was skeptical at first, but all of the kids had a lot of fun! For many, it was a first experience at anything like it. They were all very nervous, but as soon as David got out there with his sweet dance moves, they loosened up. It was a fabulous way to spend our anniversary weekend! Here is a glimpse from the beginning of the dance. The gym actually looked really cool with big, asymmetrical stars hanging from the ceilings and lots of candles, but you can't tell in this picture.
Yesterday was Isabel's (Izzy) birthday. Although celebrating it is primarily for our own entertainment, I'm certain that Izzy somehow longs for her annual extra-attention day all year.
