Although we just had a race two weeks ago, today's run was quite a contrast to the Leavenworth relay. Trail racing is much more my thing. It is far less competitive and more laid back. One is able to enjoy the beauty of the terrain instead of "pounding pavement." Focusing on the technical footing and the changes in the trail make the miles far less mundane. The racers are also much more sociable and friendly. Today, when Mom R took the family's notorious wrong turn (someone always gets lost), another racer ran to her rescue, sacrificing his time and energy. David enjoyed it too, I'm assuming, because at the end he stated, "I felt like a wolf."
We meant to match, but David ruined our scheme with his sweet sweatpants.
